Delivery & Shipping
Delivery settings control how shipping charges are calculated, where you deliver, minimum cart values, and whether cash on delivery is accepted. These settings apply to both the web store checkout and WhatsApp commerce orders. Find them under Settings → OMS Settings → Delivery.
Delivery Charge Mode
Choose how delivery charges are applied to customer orders:
- Merchant Absorbs: you cover the delivery cost. Customers see no shipping charge at checkout. Use this for free-shipping promotions or when delivery is included in product pricing.
- Free Delivery: delivery is free for all orders. The customer sees ₹0 for shipping.
- Flat Rate: a fixed delivery fee is added to every order regardless of weight, distance, or cart value. Set the flat amount in the Flat Delivery Fee field that appears below.
- Live Courier Cost: delivery charge is calculated in real time based on the customer's pincode, cart weight, and your configured courier integration. The customer sees the exact quoted cost before confirming the order.
Flat Delivery Fee
- Only shown when Delivery Charge Mode is set to Flat Rate.
- Enter the amount in your store currency (e.g., 49 for ₹49 shipping on every order).
- The flat fee is added to all orders, including mixed carts of physical and digital products. Digital and service products do not trigger address collection but do include the flat fee unless you set their product type to digital or service (which disables shipping entirely for that line).
Minimum Order Value
- Set a minimum cart subtotal that customers must reach before they can place an order.
- If the cart total falls below this value, checkout shows a message indicating how much more needs to be added.
- Leave blank for no minimum.
- The minimum is compared against the cart subtotal before delivery charges are added.
Cash on Delivery
- Enable COD: turns on cash on delivery as a payment option at checkout. Customers choose COD alongside any online payment options you have configured.
- COD Maximum Order Value: optionally cap COD eligibility. Orders above this amount are not eligible for COD — only online payment is offered. Leave blank to allow COD on orders of any value.
- COD orders appear in Commerce → Orders as unpaid until your team marks payment as received after delivery.
Serviceable Pincodes and States
Restrict which delivery locations your store accepts. By default, all pincodes and states are serviceable. Use these settings to block specific areas you cannot deliver to:
- Excluded Pincodes: enter individual pincodes you do not deliver to. Customers entering one of these pincodes at checkout see a "Delivery not available to this location" message.
- Excluded States: block entire states. All pincodes within excluded states are blocked at checkout.
- Pincode exclusions take precedence over state exclusions.
- If you use a live courier integration, serviceable areas are also checked against the courier's real-time coverage. A location not covered by the courier is blocked even if it is not in your exclusion list.
Tax Settings
- Prices include tax: when enabled, the price shown on your store already includes GST. Socialone extracts the tax component from the total at invoice time rather than adding it on top. Use this if your listed prices are MRP (tax-inclusive).
- Prices exclude tax: GST is calculated and added on top of the product price at checkout. Use this if your listed prices are base prices and tax is added separately.
- Tax rates are set per product via the product's Tax Rate field. If no tax rate is set on a product, that product is treated as tax-exempt.
Common Blockers
- Delivery unavailable for a valid pincode: check Excluded Pincodes and Excluded States. Also check whether a live courier is active and covers that area.
- Minimum order message not clearing: the check compares the cart subtotal (before delivery) to the minimum order value. Confirm the subtotal meets the threshold.
- COD not appearing at checkout: enable COD in settings. Also check whether the order total exceeds the COD maximum value you set.
- Wrong tax shown on invoice: confirm whether your products are set up as tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive. If you changed the price-includes-tax toggle, review affected product prices to ensure they reflect the correct basis.
